Principal's Message

Welcome to L.J. Smith Elementary School. Our building is fueled by 39 devoted staff members who are dedicated to providing students with the best education possible and meeting the needs of all the children who walk through our doors. 

We are proud to have earned the distinction of being deemed "Excellent" by the Ohio Department of Education and a "School of Promise" by the state superintendent. These distinctions have been earned through hard work, determination and a strong vision for success.

There are many opportunities to become actively involved in our school. The Parent Teacher Organization invites you to attend the monthly meeting and teachers are looking for volunteers to help in their classrooms. If you are not able to come to school and volunteer due to busy schedules, there are many other ways you can help from home. Come join us on our journey to continue meeting state standards and producing quality work.
