EMERSON'S MISSION STATEMENT
We, the staff of Emerson Elementary School, being professional educators, are committed to:
Creating a safe, positive, stimulating environment.
Challenging learners to reach their full potential.
Encouraging our students to become thoughtful, confident and self-directed thinkers and doers.
Empowering our students to make positive life choices as productive and responsible members of society.
During the students' five years with us, it would be our desire for the students to become life-long learners, able to communicate and solve problems in the real world.

EMERSON'S SCHOOL PHILOSOPHY
The educational program of Emerson School is one where the teachers teach children, not subjects. The instruction is flexible to meet the needs of all the children. Each child is to be given his/her chance to develop a wholesome personality through guidance and self-expression. The teacher should know the needs, abilities and traits of each child to assist him/her in effective growth in his/her school life.
The child should learn to choose, to evaluate, to make decisions after exploring and thinking, and to accept responsibilities. It is the task of the teacher to provide experiences for the child to develop these skills.
Our aim is to:
Prepare each child to take his/her place in the world regardless of his/her ability.
Stimulate within the child a desire for self-education.
Solicit the cooperation of the home in providing enriching experience for leisure time.
