The defending Region 2 Champions invade the home of Stark County’s newest football power and one of the most successful programs of the past decade, the GlenOak Golden Eagles.

About this week’s matchup:
The Massillon tradition has always been second to none, and this season promises more of the same for the 2009 state semifinalists, as head coach Jason Hall boasts what could be the most talented Tiger team in years. Massillon’s scoring engine is fueled by top-flight receiving duo Devin Smith, an Ohio State commit who had 1,400 receiving/return yards and 16 touchdowns, and Pittsburgh commit Justin Olack, who has nearly 800 receiving yards and three touchdowns of his own. Junior Alex Winters returns to the backfield where he had 1,000 rush yards and 12 touchdowns as a sophomore.
GlenOak has spent the last five seasons establishing itself as a Stark County and Federal League football force, making the playoffs three consecutive years for the first time in school history. The Golden Eagles recently sent wide receiver Brian Hartline to the NFL via Ohio State, and junior running back Brionte Dunn could be the next GlenOak start to hit the major college and professional paydirt. The 6’2”, 220 lb All-Federal League First Teamer had an unbelievable sophomore campaign that netted 1,300 yards rushing and 12 touchdowns, drawing comparisons with former Buckeye punisher Beanie Wells.
On-site Activities:
FOX Sports Ohio’s event staff will be on site, offering fans the opportunity to participate in activities and win great prizes. Through the “Pledge 2b Safe” campaign, the network and the Ohio Department of Public Safety will be giving students and parents of both schools the chance to sign a pledge banner, stating they will not text message while driving. Following the game, the schools will be given their signature-filled banner to display.
